The pre-eminent representative voice for visual and applied artists in Scotland, and the only trade union of its kind in the United Kingdom, the SAU is a vitally needed presence in the new political landscape of the country. As Scotland’s devolved parliament continues to prioritise culture, the SAU’s role becomes ever more important.

It is hoped that members and non-members alike will find this site easy to use, and that it will provide more information than ever before about the Union and its activities. We urge anyone who wishes to join, or who wants to know more about our public liability and studio contents insurance for members, to carefully read the Membership details and the FAQ. Please use the menu above to find your way to the relevant pages.

We’re eager to know what you think of our site, especially if we're not addressing any issues you think the Union should cover. Use the contact page to get in touch and to join our mailing list.

THE SAU IS CAMPAIGNING FOR A BETTER WORKING LIFE FOR VISUAL AND APPLIED ARTISTS ACROSS SCOTLAND - JOIN AND BE HEARD!
