SAU Hack Events during July, in Glasgow Edinburgh, Inverness. Get involved!

Posted: Tuesday, 14th June 2016

SAU have commissioned ‘Hack Aye’ to undertake an Organisational Review of the Union and to help to plan how it can develop over the next few years. Hack Aye will be undertaking a research and consultation project which will involve the membership and interested parties. Watch out for ways to get involved on the SAU Twitter and Facebook pages and via the SAU website.

The purpose of the hack event is to break down all of the component parts of the SAU and to then collaboratively explore piecing it all back together again.  The workshops are designed to have lots of participation from attendees. We will ask you to work on some ideas in small groups, your input and ideas are central to the outcome and we will be asking you lots of questions, for example:

What do you want from your trade union?

How much are you willing to pay for subscriptions?

Would you like to take part in trade union activism?

Would you like to take part in training and education for artists?

After the hack events we will be conducting research into other Artists Unions around the world and producing some plans for the future for the SAU. The final plan(s) will be presented at the SAU Annual General Meeting in September (for AGM details check the SAU website nearer the time).

If you require support to attend events including financial support please contact the SAU by email and someone will get back to you.
